Prince George corrects dad William

A clip from the documentary showing Prince George correcting his father William has gone viral on social media since its release on December 26. At the end of the rehearsals for the King’s coronation, Prince William is discussing the schedule for the upcoming days.

When asked if he’s coming for the dress rehearsal, the Prince of Wales says he’s not. He further notes that “George and I are back here on Friday.” The 10-year-old cutely notes “I’m here tomorrow,” as he stands next to his sister Princess Charlotte. He lets his dad know that he has an extra rehearsal day on Thursday.

The camera then focuses on Kate Middleton and the King’s interaction as they prepare to leave. Charles bids her goodbye as he leaves the rehearsal.

Fans are struck by royal family’s affection for each other

A priest who is present at the rehearsals addresses the royals’ bond with each other in the documentary. “I think what struck me particularly is how extraordinarily affectionate they are,” he says.

The next clip shows King Charles walking towards Kate, William, and their three kids at the rehearsal venue.

The King hugs and kisses both William and Kate on the cheek. The Princess of Wales also bows to him, showing respect for his position within the monarchy. Charles then proceeds to greet the kids.

In the video, posted on Royal Reporter Lydia’s YouTube channel, many fans noted the royals’ affection towards each other.

“They clearly love each other very much. It’s wonderful to see the real affection they all have for each other,” said one fan.

“Never seen such an amazing amount of affection by the royal family, particularly in public. Good to see,” a second fan noted.

“I really respect King Charles for being less formal in different moments, especially when he hugs his grandchildren and shows affection in public. He has made some noticeable changes for the better in that respect,” a third person opines.

Harry’s comment about the royals showing affection

Amid the latest video, Prince Harry’s comments about the royal family’s approach to showing affection have again come under the spotlight.

In his 2023 memoir Spare, the 39-year-old said “The older generation maintained a nearly zero-tolerance prohibition on all physical contact.”

“No hugs, no kisses, no pats,’ the Duke of Sussex said. “Now and then, maybe a light touching of cheeks…on special occasions.”

The Montecito resident said, “No matter how much you might love someone, you could never cross that chasm between, say, monarch and child. Or Heir and Spare.”
