Prince William and Princess Kate ‘can’t be silent film stars anymore’

Prince William and Princess Kate are regularly seen out and about on royal engagements – but they are known for their stoic silence.

But a fresh tone emerged this week, when the pair released a video via their Prince and Princess of Wales social media handles on X and Instagram.

In the video, Kate and her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis help out at the baby bank — going through donations, picking out toys, packing them up — and having fun while doing it.

The Royally Obsessed co-hosts, Rachel and Roberta, were so pleased with the outing that they added it to their list of topics to discuss on this week’s episode.

They both heaped praised on the event and how well it went but were left asking for more, with Roberta saying “the royals can’t be silent film stars anymore”.

Kate pulls up her sleeves to get to work, and the children are just as excited to go through the toys and help make gift bags.

It was a successful day, but Roberta wonders if the drama from the past year could “overshadow” the work that William and Kate are doing.

She tells Rachel: “I think it’s so interesting, the show-not-tell thing, does all of this drama, the fallout from Endgame, but not only that, but Harry and Meghan, and all of 2023, and all of 2022, and Spare, and all of that, does the drama overshadow what they’re doing?”

Rachel replied: “Kate and William should be out there, making more of these videos, involving the kids, letting people see how their work impacts the public in the UK.”
