“The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery,” the statement said. “Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private,” the statement continued. “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highnessā€™ progress when there is significant new information to share.”

“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible,” they added.

After being discharged from the hospital, Princess Kate is expected to recover at home in Windsor. The Prince and Princess of WalesĀ relocated to WindsorĀ in 2022 from their previous base in London.

Prince WilliamĀ is also understood to be cutting back on public duties to support his wife during her recovery as well as take care of their three children,Ā Prince George,Ā Princess CharlotteĀ andĀ Prince Louis. He will not undertake official duties while Princess Kate is in the hospital or during the early days of her home recovery.

But the palace did release a statement on Wednesday that said,Ā ā€œHer Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.ā€

It also said,Ā ā€œThe Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.ā€

The Princess Of Wales Is Due To Rest Until Easter

Kate, who is also the futureĀ Queen of England, is expected to remainĀ at Windsor Castle for the next several months while her husband Prince William picks up her royal engagements and takes care of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The news is quite troubling for a lot of royal fans and critics alike seeing how there are only a handful of senior members of the monarchy who are also full-time working royals.

Itā€™s been said that afterĀ Prince Harry and Meghan Markle pulled the plugĀ on their working relationship with the royals, Prince William and Kate Middleton had to pick up their extra workload in their already very busy schedules.

Princess Kate made herĀ last public appearance on ChristmasĀ when she joined members of the royal family for their annual walk to church. She walked with Prince William and their three children ā€”Ā Prince George, 10,Ā Princess Charlotte, 8, andĀ Prince Louis, 5 ā€”Ā to the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Norfolk.

While the Princess of Wales had yet to return to royal duty in 2024, Prince WilliamĀ made his first official outingĀ of the new year last week. At Headlingley Stadium in Leeds, the royal joined Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield, two friends who have helped raise money for research and work to combat Motor Neurone Disease after Burrow was diagnosed with MNDĀ in December 2019.

So far Prince William has not made any comments about the matter. That said, we will update you with all of the latest details as they come in. Watch this space.
