Prince Louis in line for new royal role thanks to King Charles’s shake up of titles
Prince Louis could be in line for an impressive new role – one that is already familiar in the Royal Family.
A shake-up by King Charles III could mean that his grandson, Prince Louis could receive a new royal title.
Currently only aged five, the young royal is now fourth in line to the throne – behind his father and two elder siblings.
With his elder brother Prince George, 10, is set to become King one day, Louis could also be set for a very already-familiar title.
This title change meant that his former title, Earl of Wessex, was granted to his own son, 15-year-old James.
When Edward passes away, the Duke of Edinburgh title cannot be passed down to his son – meaning that it could be given to Louis.
Prince George is set to become King one day and Princess Charlotte could become Princess Royal – the title currently held by Princess Anne.
It has previously been speculated that Louis could, however, be granted the title of Duke of York – the title currently held by Prince Andrew.
This title is typically used for the second-born son of a monarch, meaning Louis could be given the title once Prince William ascends the throne.
Princess Royal is the title given to the eldest daughter of the reigning-monarch, although is still held by Princess Anne.
Prince Louis, a mere five years old, may find himself bestowed with a prestigious title in the future, following the age-old customs of the royal lineage. Presently known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Wales, his appellation could undergo a transformation upon reaching adulthood, adopting a controversial title already held by a family member.
There exists a possibility that Prince Louis, at the tender age of five, could be granted the title of Prince Andrew one day, in accordance with a longstanding tradition that has endured for over a century.
Once the young Prince enters into matrimony, he would be in line to inherit a venerable Dukedom, potentially becoming the Duke of York, a title currently occupied by Prince Andrew.
