All four Kemp family members were smiling in the cozy photo from the previous year: radio DJ Roman Kemp, who abruptly announced his departure from Capital Breakfast in late February, his wife Shirlie, their daughter Harley Moon, and Martin.

After posting the image to Instagram on Saturday, Martin wrote, “Sending so much Kemp love to the Princess of Wales and all her family” In a comment, his wife Shirlie also extended her wishes for “much love and healing” to the pair.

The Kemps and Catherine

The picture was taken outside the Hertfordshire house of Martin and Shirley, where Princess Catherine had filmed a brief film with their son Roman on men and suicide as part of her Shaping Us campaign, which focuses on the significance of childhood in forming adulthood.

Catherine and Roman talked about the campaign during a chilly stroll through his parents’ gardens. It’s not just about raising children, she declared. It is about molding our futures, molding not just the adults we grow into but also our society, making the world a more loving, healthier, and happier place for all of us to live.”

“We were sitting at the kitchen counter, with my mum and dad and my sister with all the dogs, and Catherine was there with us,” Roman said to The Times last year. The most hilarious thing was that she had removed her shoes at the door out of consideration for others.

“That really stuck in my head because you never see royalty with no shoes” .

Following the release of his BBC documentary Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency, which inspired Catherine to get in touch with him, the Capital Breakfast host has emerged as a powerful advocate for men’s mental health awareness.

Catherine’s courageous video message

In a video message to the public last week, Princess Catherine expressed her gratitude for everyone’s support during her “incredibly tough couple of months” of absence from public duties.

The wife of Prince William disclosed that she has been receiving cancer preventive chemotherapy, putting an end to weeks of conjecture and numerous conspiracy theories regarding her whereabouts.

After requesting “time, space, and privacy” in the video to help her family deal with the diagnosis, the Princess has received a ton of supportive messages from the public.

The Princess’s early years and work on mental health

The Princess has always been interested in mental health, and her work in the early years sector is related to this. Catherine launched her Shaping Us campaign in 2023 to increase public awareness of the critical importance of a child’s first five years of life. Over the past ten years, she has witnessed firsthand how some of the most pressing social challenges of today have their roots in a person’s early years.

The Princess of Wales shared a personal video message that was recorded in Windsor by BBC Studios.

While her husband William is primarily concerned with men’s mental health, she continues to be a dedicated advocate for issues pertaining to children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. The royal family is always working to dispel the stigma associated with mental health issues while also highlighting the importance of having candid discussions about it in order to aid in healing.

Catherine said in her video message that she finds great “joy” in her work, but that she won’t be able to go back to it until she’s fully healed.

The mother-of-three’s return to the royal circuit after Easter was once anticipated, but in light of her cancer treatment, this seems improbable.
