King Charles praises ‘courageous’ Catherine after cancer diagnosis: ‘I’m so proud’

William and Catherine are known to share updates frequently on their social media channels, more notably their Twitter and Instagram accounts. One of the biggest changes is the addition of slick behind-the-scenes videos, with several posted over King Charles’ Coronation weekend. One, which was posted to their YouTube channel, even gave a sneak peek inside their Kensington Palace home, getting ready to attend the historic event.

It is reported that the planning is underway to ramp things up so King Charles can return to public duties by early summer. The Monarch is hoping to attend the Easter Sunday church service next week, but insiders reveal that the Monarch is set to deliver a special message before then for his beloved daughter-in-law Catherine. It has been claimed 75-year-old Monarch has given the princess His blessings to do an important thing. Charles traveled from London to Windsor Castle on Thursday for a heart-to-heart with his beloved daughter-in-law. He was left feeling very emotional after having a private lunch with the Princess of Wales the day that she courageously revealed her cancer diagnosis to the world.

Uh, Cameron Walker, you’ve just received a statement. I have received a statement from Buckingham Palace. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson, it says:

“His Majesty the King is so proud of Katherine for her courage in speaking as she did following their time in hospitals together. Of course, they were both at the London Clinic receiving treatment. His Majesty has remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks. Both Their Majesties, the King and Queen, will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time.”

So, that is a statement from a Buckingham Palace spokesperson, and I think this just shows the close relationship between His Majesty the King and, and I quote, “beloved daughter-in-law Katherine,” who are both currently receiving treatment for cancer.

Yeah, I mean, it is just such a bad run of luck, isn’t it, Daniel? We’ve just been going through some of the kind of situations facing that family at the moment. I mean, that would be awful to face any family in private, but to do that on a public stage, I mean, I couldn’t even imagine. I don’t know, it’s very, very unfortunate.

I mean, I think all the members of the royal family who are active members of the royal family accept that there is a part of their private life that is always going to have to be exposed to the public. You cannot be an entirely private person and a member of the royal family, an active member of the royal family, and they know that. And I think mentally, they have some preparation for it. They obviously want to control to some extent the level of intrusion, and quite rightly so because they’re entitled to privacy just as much as anybody else. But I think they’re probably better mentally prepared for some level of exposure to the public than others are because they know it comes as part of the job. They’ve accepted that, of course, and intrusion and privacy and all the rest of it, you know, we’ve heard that situation about people potentially trying to access Katherine’s private medical records, and it reminded me of a situation about nine years ago, I think it was, where Kate Middleton, as was often referred to then, was in the hospital. And I think it was severe morning sickness and a radio station, yeah, pranked and said pretended to be the queen and Prince Charles and got through the nurse, passed them through to the nurse that was looking after, and that story had a horrendous outcome, Cameron.

Yeah, it certainly did. This was, I believe it was when the princess was pregnant with Prince George, her first child, and she had severe morning sickness. She went to King Edward the 7th Hospital in central London. And as you say, Michelle, very sadly and inappropriate is the wrong word, but two Australian radio DJs phoned the hospital pretending to be the queen to be put through to the princess to ask how she was doing, Duchess of Cambridge at the time, of course. And the nurse did put it, put her through to the room, and the princess’s private nurse answered the call and got suspicious and hung up. But the nurse that put the pranksters through to the room where the princess was staying unfortunately ended up taking her own life, she did. And that is the dangers with this kind of speculation perhaps we’ve seen over the last few weeks, and then of course, we had very serious allegations a few days ago of members of staff, unauthorized members of staff attempting to access the Princess of Wales’s medical notes, investigations are ongoing, we don’t have any confirmation, but clearly the princess has been subject to a lot of hysteria and harassment to some extent over recent months, and she says in the statements the princess has released this evening that she wishes for privacy, that some time space and privacy while I complete my treatment, and I think that is clearly what she really wants, particularly in this three weeks as the news sinks in for her, her husband William, and her three young children.

Although her return to public life will be marked with a big bang return to the limelight on Easter Sunday, according to friends of the Royals, with the current situation, there is no timeline as to when Catherine will return to public duties, though it’s likely it won’t be for several months. His Majesty is said to be a huge support with her at this time, as the spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said he is so proud of Catherine and has remained in closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.

It understands his Easter message will be an attempt to reassure the nation after the Princess of Wales’s devastating cancer diagnosis. Now she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy and is requesting privacy while she focuses on the months ahead. Above all is his heart and soul for his poor grandchildren George, Charlotte, and Lewis. No matter the circumstances, the doting Grandpa Wales knows Katherine and William always give priority to their three beloved children.

Grandpa was afraid that they would be shocked and heartbroken by the news of their mother’s cancer diagnosis. The King also is said to be utterly determined to show the public the unity of his family and reassure the public that the monarchy is still stable following several setbacks. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the King’s attendance is health permitting, however, it will not be a large family gathering that we might expect to see in different circumstances.

Palace sources revealed that this year’s Easter Sunday church service will be much smaller than normal, while reports previously surfacing on Royal insiders’ fears that Prince William and Katherine’s popularity will overshadow King Charles and Queen Camilla. Princess Diana’s overwhelming popularity was said to have put a huge strain on her marriage with Charles. The then Prince was thought to have grown increasingly jealous in the early days of their union as crowds would shout to talk to Diana instead of the Future King.
