King Charles Blunder Triggers Fresh Concern, WHO Is In Charge At The Palace?

British royal family news divulges that PR is going from bad to worse one day after the media smacked down the palace for posting an altered pic of Princess Catherine.

Today could have brought redemption if not for the terrible YouTube blunder with King Charles’ Commonwealth Day celebration.

The monarch is undergoing cancer treatment and was not at today’s Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in London.

His taped speech was played for the congregation, which included Queen Camilla, Prince William, other royal family members, and dignitaries. Too bad the posted speech ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Royal News – Charles PR Blunder

Now all anyone can talk about is how utterly decrepit the palace PR machine is, and at the worst time possible, when Kate and Charles are sidelined due to medical issues.

According to People “A video of his speech was then shared on YouTube, but Gert’s Royals noted on X (formerly Twitter) that the royal family’s official social media accounts shared the wrong link. Instead of the royals’ official YouTube channel, the speech was linked to the personal YouTube account of the Palace’s Head of Digital Engagement, Emma Goodey.” Jiminy.

Eventually the post was replaced with the correct link and the video removed from Goodey’s page. Any other time this minor mistake would have been laughed off.

Right now the stakes are high with suspicion, conspiracy theories, and missing royals (with missing digits—Google Catherine’s Mother’s Day photo) fueling the rumor mill.

Royal Family News – Princess Catherine Photo Fail

King Charles’ sincere speech was delivered to 56 Commonwealth nation reps gathered in London. Charles holds sovereign status in 14 of these nations, including Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Many of the national leaders have made noises about ditching the archaic Commonwealth, and this latest stumble gives them more ammo.

King Charles said in the video “I have been most deeply touched by your wonderfully kind and thoughtful good wishes for my health and, in return, can only continue to serve you, to the best of my ability, throughout the Commonwealth.”

The only problem is that his troubled health, and the chaotic behind the scenes reality at the palace, do nothing to bolster MIA Charles’ optimistic chatter.
