Princess Kate’s diagnosis comes just three months after she underwent abdominal surgery back in January. The Princess of Wales revealed that her condition was previously thought to be non-cancerous, but following additional tests, cancer had been found.

King Charles – who was also diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer last month – has said that he is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did”.

In the emotional address, Kate said: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

UK Labour leader Keir Starmer took to X to sent his wishes to the Princess of Wales. He wrote: “On behalf of the whole Labour Party, I want to send my best wishes to Her Royal Highness at this distressing time.

“Our thoughts are with the whole Royal Family as they come to terms with the news and as they support The Princess of Wales throughout her treatment and recovery.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also sent his wishes via X, tweeting: “The Princess of Wales has the love and support of the whole country.”

Messages of support are flooding in for the Princess of Wales following her announcement yesterday of her cancer diagnosis and early stages of treatment.
Both the UK Prime Minister and prominent figures like Prince Harry have joined in, expressing hopes for her complete recovery.
King Charles, diagnosed with cancer in February, was said to be “proud” of his “beloved” daughter-in-law for her “courage” in speaking about her treatment.
The statement released by Buckingham Palace said the King stayed in close touch with her during these weeks. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a short statement, wishing the princess “health and healing”, adding that they hope the family “are able to do so privately and in peace.”
